INITIAL INFLUENCES

FROM MY OWN PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE RUSTIC ARCHITECTURE I TOOK WHILST IN VENICE, I BEGAN SIMPLE, MINIMAL DRAWINGS FOCUSING ON THEIR STRUCTURAL LINEAR QUALITIES.I WANT TO STRONG BOLD LINES IN MY WORK TO CREATE SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE DESIGNS, WHICH I WILL BE ABLE TO DEVELOP THROUGHOUT MY PRACTICE.

I THEN BEGAN TO USE THE STONE AND BRICK TEXTURES WITHIN THE ARCHITECTURE TO DEVELOP TEXTURAL SURFACES, CREATED USING WALLPAPERS,ROLLERS, FABRIC AND FORKS ALLOWING ME TO CREATE INTERESTING RIDGES AND SURFACES. I LIKE THE MINIMAL TONES WITHIN THESE DESIGNS AS THEY CO-INSIDE WITH MY SIMPLE LINEAR DRAWINGS. HOWEVER I DO FEEL I WANT TO ADD COLOUR AND GAIN A MORE EXTENSIVE COLOUR PALETTE.
