TEST LOOK BOOK SHOOT

https://www.pinterest.com/emilypogue11/lookbook-layout-inspiration/

A COUPLE OF EXAMPLES OF PHOTOGRAPHS FROM MY FRIST TEST SHOOT FOR MY LOOK BOOK IN UNIT X. I COLLABORATED WITH MY FRIEND RUBY ROBINSON WHO DOES PHOTOGRAPHY, ALLOWING EXPERIENCE TO WORK WITH SOME ONE FROM ANOTHER ART COURSE, ENABLING ME TO BENEFIT SKILLS FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING. I REALLY LIKE THE IMAGES ESPECIALLY THE TOP ONE AS IT LOOKS PROFESSIONAL AND COULD IMAGINE IT IN AN EDITORIAL SHOOT IN A FASHION MAGAZINE. I LIKE THE COMBINATION ON BLACK AND WHITE IMAGES ALONGSIDE MY BRIGHT PRINTS AS I FEEL IT GIVES A NICE CONTRAST.

IN UNIT X I WILL DO MULTIPLE TEST SHOOTS WHICH WILL ENABLE ME TO PRESENT MY WORK FULLY IN MY OWN WAY THROUGH STYLING, LAYOUTS ETC.

LOOKBOOK LAYOUTS

THESE ARE A FEW SAMPLE LAYOUTS I HAVE DONE FOR RESEARCH IN TO MY LOOKBOOK FOR UNIT X. THE LAYOUTS WERE CREATED THROUGH REFINING AND CAREFULLY SELECTING TYPES OF PAPERS, IMAGES AND THEIR COMPOSITION ON THE PAGE. I AM HAPPY WITH MY LAYOUTS BUT I WOULD WANT TO REFINE AND RESEARCH ABIT MORE WHEN IN UNIT X SO THEY LOOK AS PROFESSIONAL AS THEY CAN FOR THE DEGREE SHOW. I ALSO LOOKED IN TO ONLINE LOOK BOOKS SUCH AS ALLSAINTS AND THE KOOPLES AS THESE ARE AROUND THE SAME MARKET LEVEL AS MY PRINTS. I WILL BE CREATING AN ONLINE LOOK BOOK FOR UNIT X ASWELL AS I FEEL IT SHOWS PROFESSIONALISM AND A GOOD WAY TO SHOWCASE YOUR WORK FOR FUTURE EMPLOYERS.

FINAL MINI COLLECTIONS

COLLECTION 1

COLLECTION 2

AFTER REFINING AND DEVELOPING MY TWO COLLECTIONS, THESE ARE THE FINALS 2 MINI COLLECTIONS WHICH I WILL TAKE IN TO UNIT X AND FURTHER EXPLORE AND CREATE MORE DESIGNS FOR EACH. I FEEL LIKE BOTH DESIGNS ARE BOTH ON THE HIGHER END OF THE HIGTH STREET, BUT MAYBE COLLECTION TWO MORE TO HIGH END DUE TO IT SUBTLE AND SOPHISTICATED ELEMENTS. I AM HAPPY WITH BOTH COLLECTIONS AS I FEEL THEY ARE STORNG PRINTS AND I LOOK FORWARD TO RE DEVELOPING THESE FOR UNIT X.

PRINT INSPIRATION

VIIGAL AZROUEL

DESIGNER USES GRAPHIC LIKE PRINTS TO CREATE ABSTRACT, TEXTURAL PRINT DESIGN. THIS IS SIMILAR TO MY FIRST COLLECTION WITH THE GRAPHIC/PHOTOGRAPHIC ELEMENTS. I LIKE BLOCK PRINT EFFECT COMBINED WITH THE CONTEMPORARY SHAPE OF THE GARMENT, AS I BELEVE THEY WORK WELL TO GIVE A FASHION FORWARD OUTCOME.

I FEEL THIS IS HUGELY INSPIRATIONAL TO MY FIRST COLLECTION AS IT HAS SIMILAR ELEMENTS, AND HAS A HIGH END, SOPHISTICATED LOOK TO THE GARMENT, WHICH IS WHAT I AM HOPING WITHIN MY DESIGNS.

BALENCIAGA

THE COLOURS AND TEXTURES ALONGSIDE THE LINE QUALITY ARE HUGELY INSPIRATIONAL FOR MY SECOND COLLECTION. THE SIMILARITIES WITH COMPOSITION ARE APPARENT AS ITS AN ALL OVER PRINTS JUST AS MINE ARE. A HUGELY INSPIRATIONAL PRINT.

FABRIC DEVELOPMENT - BOTH COLLECTIONS

HARD TO TELL ON THE IMAGE, HOWEVER THE RIGHT HAND SIDE IS THE FABRIC CREPE DE CHINE AND ON THE LEFT SILK HABOTAI. THE CREPE DE CHINE HAS MORE OF A MATTE FINISH AND ENHANCES THE COLOUR TONES AND TEXTURES WITHIN THE DESIGN MUCH BETTER THAN THE HABOTAI. THE HABOTAI HAS TOO MUCH OF A SHINE TO IT AND I FEEL FOR MY MARKET THE CREPE DE CHINE WOULD SUIT BEST AS IT HAS MORE OF A SOPHISTICATED ELEMENT TO THE FABRIC.

THERE ARE NOT MUCH DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE FABRICS BUT THE SMALLEST DETAIL SUCH AS HABOTAI BE A LITTLE TOO SHINY, CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE FOR YOUR COLLECTION. THEREFORE ALLOWING ME TO SEE BOTH FABRICS STOPS POTENTIAL ERRORS.

FOR MY SECOND COLLECTION I CHOSE BETWEEN CREPE DE CHINE AND SINGLE GEORGETTE. THE SINGLE GEORGETTE (RIGHT) OBVIOUSLY LOOSES COLOURS BUT I LIKE THE TEXTURAL AND OPACITY QUALITIES IN INHABITS. THE CREPE DE CHINE BRINGS OUT THE COLOURS HOWEVER I FEEL AS IF IT IS QUITE OVER POWERING AND I PREFER THE SUBTLE TONES AND I FEEL WOULD SUIT MY AUDIENCE MORE.

ABSTRACT DRAWINGS

I CREATED THESE DRAWINGS USING WATERCOLOUR, ACRYLIC, PASTELS, PENCIL AND INKS TO GAIN A RANGE OF TEXTURES. I FEEL THE ABSTRACT VISUALS WILL BE A GREAT STARTING POINT TO DEVELOPING THEM IN TO DIGITAL PRINTS, BY RE-CONSTRUCTING THEM AND EDITING THEM IN TO PLACEMENT PRINTS.

BY RE-CONSTRUCTING IMAGES TO MAKE PRINTS I AM ABLE TO ACHIEVE UNIQUE PATTERNS AND COLOUR YOU WOUL NOT BE ABLE TO ACHIEVE IF YOU WERE JUST TO EDIT THEM AS THEY WERE, GIVING MY WORK AN MORE OF AN EDGE, AND INTERESTING SPARK.
